If someone had asked me a few years ago what retirement was about, I probably would have talked about savings, investments, healthcare, or when I planned to claim Social Security.
Today, I think it’s about something much bigger. It’s about identity, purpose, relationships, dreams we put on hold, and discovering who we are when our careers no longer define us.
Throughout my career, I’ve helped organizations and employees navigate change. I’ve seen firsthand that even positive change can be exciting, uncertain, emotional, and deeply personal. That experience made me wonder: if we invest so much time helping people through workplace transitions, why do we spend so little time talking about one of life’s biggest transitions?
That question led me here.
My Season Ahead is a research project dedicated to listening to women who are preparing for retirement or already living it. Through conversations and shared stories, I hope to better understand what this transition is really like—not just financially, but emotionally, socially, and personally.
Why My Season Ahead?
Because every woman deserves to define what comes next on her own terms.
A season isn’t an ending. It’s a chapter of growth, change, and possibility. And the word my reminds us that no two journeys are the same. Each of us brings our own experiences, hopes, challenges, and dreams into this next stage of life. I don’t have all the answers. In fact, that’s the point.
I’m here to ask questions, listen with curiosity, identify the patterns that emerge, and share what we learn together.
My hope is that these conversations will help women feel more prepared, more connected, and more confident as they create lives filled with purpose, meaning, and joy beyond their careers.
If this resonates with you, I’d love for you to join me on the journey.
Whether you’re five years from retirement, already retired, or simply beginning to wonder what your next season might hold, there’s a place for your story here.
Welcome to My Season Ahead.
